A Detour of Accidents Empty A Detour of Accidents

Post  General Pig Mon Apr 19, 2010 7:57 pm

Settings changed and everything was different. Instead of suspended above the ground on a building ready to be crossed out in the line of demlition, they were firm on the ground, in an allyway, ahead of them, the occasional person walking by to go to their individual destinations. The air was chilled, different, the buildings the people. Everyone speeched had changed, accented heavily. A new place, a new setting.

    Austrailia. Aussie Land.

The prank, it was a complete success, except for the part where they were almost killed, but all in all, great. Alderic let go of Cody and proceeded out of the ally way. They weren't that far from his house. Well, he hadn't intended to bring her here, but oh boy did he.

Suddenly she noticed that the buildings were falling towards her and felt panic light in her chest, like a trapped bird. Then she felt Toussaint grab her arm and she was flung somewhere she didn't know. But from the dry air and the way Toussaint seemed to know where he was made her reassured. Even slightly. She let her arm fall limply to the ground as he let go of her and stood up, eyes sparkling. "So... where are we?" she asked.

"Eh bien, nous sommes en Sydney." He looked out at the shops, the buildings. There was a calmness here, not like over in... Michigan? Wherever they were. It didn't matter, this scene was much more to be admired. The other was simple entertainment. It was darker than it was back over in America. The sun was beginning to fall and such and... it was probably time to retire, at least, if you didn't have the driving permit that owuld allow you to actually get inside a vehicle at this time. It'd take a while to get back home by foot. Oh well, he wasn't going that way anyways. "Venez sur." He waved for her to come forward, and not sit around in the alleyway like some drug dealer. They were going to do something. "Si voulez-vous aller?"

Sydney huh? Cool place. Cody observed, looking around with wide eyes. She'd never really been anywhere but her home-town before. Which was kinda dumb. 'Cause she could practically do whatever she wanted now that she could download powers. She could make a home for herself in South America if she wanted! But she didn't. Because there was some strange attachment she had with her home in North America. The stillness of Australia wasn't really working for her, being so used to the hustle and bustle of Michigan. But she could learn to live with it. Not like she had to do anything different than what she usually did. But, beside the point, she could feel her powers start to ebb away. She shrugged. Oh well.

She looked startled at his next question. Well, where could they go? It's not like she had a mental mad of Sydney, Australia that she could draw in the dirt. She'd never been here before! "Um, Idunno. Where do you want to go?" she asked awkwardly, still trying to make sense of where she was and how she was going to get home.

You know, the point of being in a new place was to explore! Man this girl wasn't as ambitious as he thought she was. She was just kind of... eh. He didn't feel like explaining. Now, where could they go? Erm. Well, he had nothing. Maybe he would just walk around until he found something intersting. And so he did. Stepping out of the alleyways and going... somewhere.

Cody followed after Toussaint, staring around her. See, this didn't intimidate her like it would those wimpy girls in her school. This excited her! She could spend all day exploring. But, sadly, that would most likely get her killed. Because, since she didn't pay attention in geography, she had no clue what was in Australia. It would be her luck to get bitten by a rabid dog or something, or die out in the desert from lack of water.

Now, where to go, where to go? Well, he didn't really know. There were food places, but he wasn't hungry, and there were bars, but he wasn't going to drink because he had to go to school. And there was a problem of that whole, underaged thing. Two years was a long time to wait. Mmm... there were clothing stores. Girls liked to shop and stuff. He doubted she had any money though. Ah... nothing to do on a Saturday. Or... Friday in Amaerica.

Cody, still staring dumb-struck at everything like a moron, snapped to attention as a kid ran past her, nearly missing hitting her. She didn't say anything. She shouldn't yell at the kid. After all, she was staring into space in the middle of the road. Like a complete idiot. Plus he was gone by now.

Being the tom-boy type of girl she was, she had no clue how to talk to a guy like a girl would. She didn't want to talk about clothes or boys. Mainly because both of those subjects irritated her and he probably didn't want to hear about it. Hmm... She could try to start a conversation on Australia, perhaps? Nah. That seemed boring too. And she had nothing about Australia to talk about, knowing nothing about it. She go off blabbering something stupid about tumbleweeds or something.

"Thanks for saving me earlier," she said as the first thing that came to her mind.

"Bien sûr. Je ne pouvais pas vous laisser là-haut." Yes he could have. It would have saved time, but what was done was done. She was here. And she was talking. And every man knew what happened when women started talking. Ugh. He guessed he's have to just pull through it with acceptence.

Cody looked down. Obviously Toussaint didn't want to talk. Plus she had nothing to talk about. But how were they going to do anything in silence? "Um," she said, desperately grasping at something she could use as conversation. "It's nice out here." Oh. My. GOD! Did she really just say that? She felt like slamming her head against the wall. Repeatedly. That was so frickin' stupid... Somebody shoot her now!

Oh. My. God. It's starting. "C'est bien maintenant, mais ça va sucer dans quelques semaines." Or a month. It'll get all cold then and... mmm. Americans are only lucky when the winter comes, it was all he could admit. There will be frost in no time, and he'd have to walk out to go to school in it all, or drive, either way, he'd be in it. Toussaint was the real lucky one. He was homeschooled, he didn't have to go anywhere.

"Does it really get that cold here?" she queried, guessing at his reluctance to speak. Cody didn't want to be a bother but... The dude had taken her to Australia. She had no clue what she should do.

"Je ne suis pas trop aimé de tout type de froid, si ... Je ne peux vraiment pas vous dire." Cold makes everything worse, except for popsicles, popsicles were awesome, though, he wasn't that fond of ice cream. Yeah, ice cream, but... eh. He didn't get the greatness out of it. But popsicles were where it was at. You know, he could go for one right now. So... where was that store again....?

Alderic stopped. That was a good question... Where was he going? The city was big and there was a lot to do, so he wasn't completely sure as to what to do exactly. Well, more of where to go. "Je n'ai pas vraiment de plan." He looked around the city, and the people. More people came out during the night, this was the middle hour, less people were here, though... it still seemed like a lot. Hmm.... now what to do? "Voulez-vous aller à la plage ou quelque chose?"

Well, lets go. Even if they were miles away from his home and he really had no idea where he was, he could tell they were near the beach. It was much cooler here, and there were sea birds all around. He kept walking ahead, navigating himself towards the beach that was so seaked out.

By the time they actually got there though, the sun had happily gone down and, now it was darker out. Not many people were left here, in fact, almost none at all. He wasn't sure they were even allowed to be here at the time, but who cared? He had to occupy her while they were here.

Cody followed after Toussaint, rubbing her arms from the colder weather the sunset brought with it. She hadn't really thought that she'd be going to Australia today, so she'd only put on a tanktop. It was just her day, wasn't it? Luckily she was wearing jeans instead of shorts. Then she'd be freezing. And it was too bad that her powers had expired about thirty minutes before. She could have heated the air around her so that it was at least warmer than she was now.

Upon reaching the beach, she gasped. It was beautiful, the dark purple sky reflecting the light of the stars and the moon onto the deep blue-green waves that roiled back and forth on the pristine white sand of the beach. There were no words for it. A playful breeze tugged a strand of hair out of place from behind her ear, but she ignored it, blue eyes sparkling with starlight. "Wow. You're lucky to live here," she murmured, awestruck.

"Eh bien, je ne vivent pas ici. Je vis" he looked behind him, "chemin du retour là-bas." They were miles away from his house. And without a car and the fact that it was past curfew, he wasn't going to get over there anytime soon. He'd ask a friend, but, once again, waaay back there. Sucks having powers sometimes. Lucky, lucky, him.

"Well yeah I know, but still. You live somewhat near here. Right?" Cody smiled at him warmly. Even though this was only the second time she'd ever seen Toussaint, she already felt like she was talking to her best friend. Especially since practically no one talked to her at school or anywhere else. "We really need to blow something up more often. That was awesome. Well, except for the part where it woulda killed us had you not teleported us outta there." Oh God. She was babbling. She shut her mouth and listened for his response.

"Euh, non. Quand je dis le chemin du retour il ya, je veux dire, tant de miles loin, il va prendre des jours pour y arriver." So-far-away-it's-not-even-funny far. Man, he needed a car, and a real licence. But no. Not him. He listened to her say something about the whole exploding thing. Mm. "Peut-être pas. J'ai déjà d'expliquer pourquoi je ne suis pas à la maison maintenant. Je suis surpris personne ne m'a appelé pour le moment."

"Euh, ouais." Alderic reached into his pocket a pulled out his cellphone. Instantly he noticed it was off. So... that's why he hadn't had a call yet. Quickly he turned it on and waited for it to go through it's little sequence. Next thing he knew he had about... ten missed calls. Most of them from his friends, one from his parents. Well, he wasn't going to hear the end of this one. He exited out of the Missed Alerts section and to his screen saver. It was a simple picture of one of his girl friends sitting on one of the sheep. Heh.

He handed the phone to Cody. She wanted something with it.

Cody took the phone, accessing the WiFi section thingy and typing in "Villain.net". Quickly she found the part where they could download powers and stuff and tapped into it, giving herself teleportation and flying powers. "See, we can download powers from this thing and get home. Simple." she said, handing the phone back to him.

Oh. Yeah, they could do that, couldn't they? Man he was an idiot! He should have known that! No wonder he was a C-B student. He missed everything! With the quickness of an expert texter he switched to his account, downloading his own powers to use when he decided to leave. Exiting out of the broqwser he checked over those Missed Alerts again. Mm. He got a text. He slid the phone open to the keyboard and texted a quick reply before he returned the phone back to it's regular spot.

When he looked back at Cody he realized he knew nothing about her. But who cared? That was Toussaint's job. He'd figure it all out.
