Avira froze. She didn't know what to do. Well, the other two were going home so she supposed she ought to try and get back to her place. There was no way she'd be going all the way to Japan with them.
But, she couldn't move. She felt so paralyzed. Just the shock of what the strangers had said. Nick'd be too boring to fight? So they really just went around killing people? She was both horrified, disgusted, but at the same time she was silently admiring their strength, their power. It was astonishing.
The young man snarled silently before he felt himself unwind. His muscles released somewhat, allowing him to move since his tendons weren't under so much pressure. The sinew had locked under such the strain.
Nick moved over to Avira, the girl stuck in a phase. He didn't have the patience. "Come on. We're staying here tonight." he told her, feeling slightly more powerful now that he was bossing the sixteen-year-old around. And he was getting away with it.
He turned violently, whipping around to glare at the two girls walking away. "Say Hello to the dingoes for me!" he growled at them menacingly. He couldn't help but let the hate rising in his throat exit through his mouth.
Avira, mortified, was grabbed by her brother, a simple hand wrapped gently around her wrist. His touch was light and soft to her skin, but within his fingers held the power and anger he held inside of him. She could tell that her younger brother was still in rage, but she kept silent and followed. In her current state, she couldn't care less.
The siblings camped within a gum tree, the wide branches offering comfort and safety from anything within the Outback. No bears slipped within the limbs and they offered no threat to the teenagers. Nick stayed at the bottom of the tree, watching while his sister slept soundly.
